Description
The 4N28 optocoupler includes an infrared light-emitting diode (LED) and an NPN silicon phototransistor housed together in a DIP-8 package. When the LED is forward-biased by an input current, it emits infrared light that is detected by the phototransistor, allowing the signal to pass through while maintaining electrical isolation between the input and output sides.
