The 1N34 is a small-signal germanium diode that features a low forward voltage drop, making it ideal for use in low-power, high-frequency applications. Unlike silicon diodes, which typically have a forward voltage drop of around 0.7V, the germanium 1N34 diode has a forward voltage drop as low as 0.2V to 0.3V, which enables better performance in RF detection and signal rectification.
