The PCF8583P is a low-power, I²C-bus real-time clock (RTC) and calendar IC with a built-in, 3.0V to 5.5V operation range. It keeps track of time and date information, including seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year, and maintains this information even when the main power supply is off, thanks to its battery backup feature.
