Description

The 74LS147 is a decimal to BCD (Binary-Coded Decimal) priority encoder IC from the 74LS (Low Power Schottky) logic family. It converts a 10-line decimal input into a 4-line binary coded decimal (BCD) output. The encoder also prioritizes the highest decimal input that is active, providing a binary output corresponding to the highest active input.

Features

  • Logic Family: 74LS series (Low Power Schottky)
  • Number of Inputs: 10 decimal inputs (0 to 9)
  • Number of Outputs: 4 BCD outputs
  • Priority Encoding: Outputs the binary representation of the highest priority active input
  • Active-Low Outputs: Outputs are active LOW
  • High-speed operation
  • Low power consumption
  • TTL compatible inputs and outputs
  • Pin-to-pin compatible with other 74-series ICs
  • Operating temperature: 0°C to +70°C

Specifications

  • Supply Voltage (Vcc): 4.75V to 5.25V
  • Input High Voltage (VIH): Minimum 2V
  • Input Low Voltage (VIL): Maximum 0.8V
  • Output High Voltage (VOH): Minimum 2.7V
  • Output Low Voltage (VOL): Maximum 0.5V
  • Maximum Propagation Delay: 15ns (typical)
  • Power Dissipation: 12mW (typical)
  • Fan-Out: 10 LS-TTL loads
  • Package: DIP-16 (Dual In-Line Package with 16 pins)
