The 74LS126 is a quad 3-state buffer IC from the 74LS (Low Power Schottky) logic family. It includes four independent buffers, each with a 3-state output capability. The 3-state feature allows the output to be in one of three states: high, low, or high-impedance (floating). This makes it ideal for use in digital systems where multiple devices share a common data bus or need to be disconnected from the bus.
