Description

The 74LS240 is an octal buffer/line driver IC with three-state (tri-state) outputs, designed for driving data buses and buffering signals in digital circuits. It consists of eight independent buffers arranged in two groups of four buffers with separate direction and enable controls, making it ideal for bidirectional data flow. The IC is commonly used to drive high-capacitance loads and to isolate bus lines to reduce signal interference.
